Pirate Saga Ends Badly for Pirates

When it's four Somali pirates facing down a US Navy destroyer, put your money on, you know, the destroyer!

After negotiations with the pirates broke down, the Navy launched a strike described as "a swift firefight" that killed three of the pirates, wounded one, and freed the hostage, Captain Richard Phillips.

Gawker has more details on what turned out to be a very bad day to be a pirate.

Jack Kelly, writing in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, has a ton of information about how the US has dealt with pirates previously. I had no idea that we were this involved with anti-pirating efforts. Perhaps the RIAA could learn a thing or two from this article.
