Microsoft announced via their advanced notification bulletin that they intend to release five patches, each rated Critical by Redmond, as part of their Sept. 8 monthly security bulletin.
All fixes are for vulnerabilities in the Windows platform, from Windows 2000 through Window 2008. Disturbingly, each are remote code execution flaws.
The scheduled Sept. 8 release does not currently include the fix for the recently revealed FTP service on IIS vulnerability. Exploit code for the IIS issue was posted on milw0rm on Aug. 31.
Looks like it's going to be a relatively busy September, folks. I hope you got a chance to take some time off over the summer months.
