So a guy breaks into Alex's room and prepares to steal an iPod. Alex could have nailed him, but no.

So the thief goes for Alex's wallet, and still Alex doesn't fight back. So the thief takes a shot at the car keys, and still no reaction? WTF?

Then the thief makes a mistake - he reaches for Alex's laptop. Suddenly, it's a bad day to be a thief.

Alex Botsios is a law student at Arizona State, and that laptop had all his semester work on it, and some of it had not been turned in yet. That was pretty important to Alex, so he let the thief know how he felt. With a bat.

Looks like the thief took a pretty good beating, too.
