The Vatican has advised that they believe that the theory of evolution is compatible with the Bible. Guess you were correct, Charles Darwin. Hope you're not in Hell.
Since most Christians believe in a literal translation of Genesis, there's not much support for this view. Miracles are miracles, after all.
The Catholic Church teaches "theistic evolution," that essentially accepts evolution as a scientific theory, and they don't really see a problem with the Big Guy using a natural evolutionary process that has led us to where we are today.
