Well, this will certainly be interesting if it turns out to be true.
Several sources are reporting that the Republican National Committee is about to pull out of joint advertising efforts with the McCain campaign, choosing instead to focus their time and money on some key Senate races that appear iffy for the incumbent Republicans involved.
I wonder how much of that would be writing off McCain's chances, given how far behind he is in the polling, and how much might be to put separation between the GOP and the campaign's vicious, hate-filled message that's caused quite a bipartisan uproar. Is the GOP now going into survival mode and pulling back to fight another day?
