Remember when Sarah Palin said that she would cooperate with the Alaska trooper-gate investigation? Yeah, not so much.
After changing her story a couple of times as more and more evidence became known, Palin (with the aid and comfort of the McCain campaign) has decided that she will "decline to cooperate" with investigators. Further, the state Attorney General, who was appointed by Palin, has directed that Palin's staff will not honor subpoenas issued by a non-partisan panel that was leading the investigation and approved the subpoenas.
Palin would prefer that the investigation be handled by the state personnel board, that she also appointed. Nothing like having the ability to pick your investigator, judge, and jury.
Gee, who does this sound like? Using a political office to pressure out foes, and when caught, deny it until evidence comes to light, then deny the evidence until being given a legal mandate to testify under oath, at which point you refuse to honor the mandate and instead lawyer up and file lawsuits challenging the authority of the investigating body to even look at this in the first place.
We've seen this silly game for the past 7 1/2 years. No more.
