Jack Cafferty from CNN has some commentary on the Republicans in general. There also a quote from a Republican congressman that puts forth the idea that "The Republican brand is in the trash can. If we were dog food, they would take us off the shelf."
Here's one thing that might get the GOP back on track. Stop thinking of yourself as a brand, like Fritos or Diet Coke, and start thinking about the best way to serve the people who vote for you (or not, it seems). If 2006 wasn't enough of a wake-up call, we'll be happy to reinforce the message in November.
Your ideas and methods of governing no longer appeal to the broad audience. For all your bluster and posturing, when it comes to the problems and issues that everyday folks care about, you ain't getting it done. Either discard your wedge issues and constituencies, or face increasing irrelevance. Pro-choice has meanings beyond the abortion debate.
